Can you live without music? Do you have any specific tastes when working or studying to move you into the flow quickly?
I watched and played with a new branching type of movie-Black Mirror Bandersnatch, and enjoyed the various coolish plots last weekend. In that piece, a well-known game developer asked his new colleague, “What are the songs bringing you into the flow?” in their working space. This scene is directly linked to my usual life. I suppose many people’s lives would not separate from music, especially designers, artists, and other created related positions.
In my experience, music takes me to a different realm, transports me to an extra dimension and brings me a variety of inspirations and stimulations. What’s more? I sometimes found that I can visualize the songs or rhythm and turn them into unique scenes or designs, which an artist told me is a sense called Synesthesia. Music certainly helped me a lot with my design deliverables and creations.
However, I also discovered that when I was inputting something, such as reading articles or learning English, music will become a burden and make me feel bothered. I still don’t understand why it’s poles apart from designing, yet I am inquisitive if any scientific result or research mentions this phenomenon's logic or findings.
Regarding the music itself, it typically has a kind of magic that can release my pressure, arouse my emotion, or smooth my mood. In many cases, while I feel a bit of anxiety or panic, it usually can be a life-saver to bring me away from the situation, like a switch button to turn my stress off in the blink of an eye.
Because of my massive demand for music, I genuinely appreciate digital media and stream services offering us so many different channels to access distinguished genres of songs or compose, particularly a platform named Soundcloud. When I first used this product a few years ago, It opened my eyes to music types and allowed me to listen to plenty of indie makers’ creations freely and intuitively. I explored this excellent stream service for a long time and enjoyed its UX and UI system a lot, so I would recommend people to try it.
Music is such a generous gift from a human being’s intelligence. I really cannot imagine if one day it doesn’t exist in my life anymore. What would it look like? A hell?! Hence, it’s time to leave here. Just play a song now!
